Question

Can I get my disability payments on different health problems that I originally had?

Asked on May 5th 2026 by Dee
I had a mental breakdown and my employer put me out on disability with Mutual of Omaha for Bipolar for two years after being on temporary disability. Then I went on disability till this February 2027 for Parkinsonism but they are going to discontinue my benefits and leave me with only social security. I won't be able to live! I'm now seeing a current neurologist for peripheral neurologist. I have countless dr appointments, labwork, MRI's, CT Scans, Bone Scans. I have gait problems, fatigue and incontinence. I know I will never be able to work again. Please contact me. I'm desperate!

If you develop a secondary condition that is disabling and it develops while you are on long term disability, then yes you can seek disability benefits for the new condition.
