Question

If reasonable accommodation was denied can this play apart in long term appeal letter?

Asked on August 6th 2025 by LYNN
My claim was cut off in month 6 of long-term benefits. Lincoln has done 7 peer reviews during this appeal process. Most of the reviews state I can do the job with certain accommodations, but they were also denied. Also Lincoln will not provide me with the job description and duties they are using in this claim.

When you refer to a reasonable accommodation I assume you mean a workplace accommodation request to your employer. If so, claims for reasonable accommodations do not fall under the purview of the disability claim meaning you can raise it in an appeal letter, but their decision on your appeal will only be as it relates to the disability benefit and would have not bearing on any accommodation issue with your employer. That being said, I think the fact that accommodations that were requested to the employer being denied is certainly evidence to support you disability insurance claim.
