Stage 3 locally advanced pancreatic cancer. Currently in chemotherapy with complications of weakness, anermia, neuteopenia, very low platwtte counts. The biggest concern: Social Security approves my hisband forn SSDI which first paymemt of 1576 monthly with 1st paymemt to be paid out 5/20/2020. This SSA award letter due to the Compassionate Care Act was also provided to Sun-Life. They state they have all documentation and are taking a 30 day extension. What is the hold up? No problems with STD from Sun Life so what is the problem with conversion to LTD since STD bemefit ran out on 1w/29/2019. There has been 0 income since 12/29/2019. This is not only financially difficult but very frustrating. The survival rate for stage 3 pancreatic cancer is very poor. Per medicare it is a 1% survival rate of 5 years following this aweful diagnosis. It shouldn't take this long. He is completely unable to work due to use of fentanyl transdermal patches at 150 mcg every 72 hours and dilaudid 8 mg every 3 hours as needed for pain. Do we have any recourse? Why are they handlimg it this way? 2/12/2020 is when he should know something. This seems pretty clear cut disability for sure.
