How does change in LTD administrator affect benefit?
I am currently under SunLife Std which ends in January 13, 2026. Then Hartford will be plan administrator. I am awaiting decision from Sunlife for my LTD by 1/1/26. All medical records have been submitted. I work for a hospital system.

There should not be any change on your side as you are still required to submit the same documentation in order to prove you are disabled. It is the disability policy language that governs and the administrator must follow the policy language. One thing that will change in the future is that Hartford uses different forms for proving disability and has different methods for how they evaluate a claim. It's very unusual to see Hartford take over a Sunlife disability claim. I have seen Sunlife as the short term disability policy issuer and Hartford as long term disability policy issuer.
