Everytime SunLife receives my information they ask for another 7 to 10 business days
Told Sunlife I’m getting an attorney since my claim was filed April 16, 2021, still pending a decision and everytime they ask for more information and they receive it, they add another 7 to 10 business days.

Joe, I assume this is a short term disability claim pursuant to a group policy issued to your employer. If so, the relevant federal claims regulations allow the carrier up to 105 days to make a decision (45-day initial period and up to 2 30-day extensions). In addition, the carrier can “toll” (i.e., extend) the individual extension deadlines for periods they are waiting on additionally requested documentation. Based on your filing date it appears the initial deadline would not run until late July 2021.
