Hartford

Hartford takes advantage of disabled people. My experience has been exhausting.

My experience with The Hartford has been exhausting and frustrating. The Hartford selectively chooses what to emphasize and what to ignore to benefit themselves as they deny my Long-term Disability claim. They monitor themselves it appears without any oversight or advocate for the client. They are a money-making machine that takes advantage of people who are compromised and weakened by serious illnesses. They create a picture of functionality using certain criteria while ignoring physical therapy restrictions imposed on the client. Despite having all current medical records & a letter from my treating physician stating that I have multiple Orthopedic issues that limit my abilities to perform an 8-hour job, they ignore this. They stated that my doctors would not respond to their requests for information when in fact they did respond multiple times, supporting my limited physical condition. They expect Doctor’s to handle their requests for information on a regular basis without any offer to compensate for the time involved to accomplish this, thus wearing down the medical providers and the client. They conduct incessant regular interviews on “recorded lines” which are intimidating and hostile. The request for medical records violates privacy and The Hartford sends long, unclear, convoluted forms to the providers to complete without proper explanation in a surreptitious manner to further confuse the provider and the patient. The Hartford receives a great deal of money each month from my employer to cover its employees, but after it seized my Social Security disability benefits in the amount of $23,000 it determined I was not disabled. Again they selected when its convenient to support me and when it’s not. The Hartford are sharks of the worst type. They take advantage of disabled people economic situations forcing them to file for Social Security Disability to gain a huge profits for themselves, then cut off the client when it has to pay out any benefits.
