Unum is evil

On 11/3/2021 I got shot by my boyfriend and my spinalcord got hit, paralyzing me from the neck down and accepting Unum benefits was the worst decision I ever made. I sued my ex in a civil suit because I thought for sure he had a 401k, at least 120k. The suit took so long that he was able to get the money out somehow, or it was never there to begin with and I got a judgment against him and he owes me something like 3 million. So Unum thought I actually received that, which I didn't and most likely will never see it but I was able to get a life insurance policy around 7k. I was living on my own with an 1800 dollar rent on top of other bills and getting on housing takes YEARS. I tried to show the hardship financial hardship I was going through and if I paid back my entire settlement to them I would literally become homeless and they didn't care at all. I have been trying to have the overpayment done by them just not paying me but now I'm in a situation where because of it, I have had my caregiver taken from me, I was taken off of Medicaid and now I've had my foodstamps also taken from me. I'm about to lose my counselor and might possibly be looking at the outcome of being homeless and I can't wait until may for the overpayment take care of itself. I don't know what to do and I wish I would have never agreed to get help from them.
