Question
Should I be concerned? "Please note that your claim is being transferred at this time."
Claim was recently approved, 1st payment was released. Had a follow up w/sports surgeon on September 3, 2026, still having difficulties w/THR, Dr. stated releasing me back to THR Dr., sent me directly over to another Dr. for an ultrasound guided injections (Triamcinolone) in the hip joint/tendon. Unum received docs from the sports Dr. and waiting procedure, notes etc from the Dr. that did the injections. After reviewing the Dr.s notes, etc, I received the notification of Unum’s status letter stating the above.
Answer
Darren, there is truly no way to know. Often times, we do see a denial on a decent percentage of cases once they get assigned to a new claims handler. Sometimes (but by no means every time) a denial could be forthcoming. But to ensure you remain approved, the best course of action is to keep sending in supportive "proof" of your claim to show that you remain unable to perform the duties of your own occupation. It is your duty to prove your claim and proof is typically in the form of updated medical records and supportive statements from the treating providers.
