ER physician Unum mental health claim for 40 years

Asked on September 18th 2024 by Physician
I’m an ER physician who has been on a Unum mental health idi claim for 40 years. I have lifetime benefits. I have not been required to have a physician report for the last decade. I have filled out an annual claimants report. They did not request 1 this year. Is there a point where I no longer have to have on going care and worrying about forms.

Physician, in all likelihood, there will never be a time that you will "no longer have to have on going care and worrying about forms. Unfortunately, you will always need to continue to prove your claim to Unum so that they are convinced that you remain disabled. It is best to never let your guard down as they can request such at any time. If they request such and you are not prepared to provide updated proof, it could certainly be detrimental to your claim.
