Question
Disability Attending Physician Statement
Answer
Treepy, while I am unfamiliar with the state laws of Tennessee, I would hope that the doctor of a disabled person (your employer) would not be charging a disabled person who is on a very fixed income (assuming their claim is approved) or has no income anything to complete an Attending Physician Statement that likely takes 2 minutes or less to complete. The APS is so important as is the support of the treating provider. If the patient's claim isn’t approved, it is unlikely that the patient will be able to continue treatment anyways. Thus, completing an APS for free is likely a good investment by the doctor and the right thing to do.
