Question
Is Principal entitled to seek payment of the portion of SSDI paid to my attorney? Will they stop paying me when I get my first Social Security check?
Answer
Glenda, Principal would not be entitled to seek repayment of the portion of SSDI paid to your attorney. As long as you continue to meet the definition of disability under the policy, Principal will continue to pay you benefits until such time the policy ends or they determine you are not disabled under the terms and conditions of the policy.
