Wrongfully terminate my LTD claim, AND take my qrtly bonus....?

Can Hartford demand Dr office notes, wrongfully terminate claim as a result, then suddenly say they'll reopen claim.. without explanation or apology. They then discover my quarterly bonus.... offset it to prorate for months paid for? Today I received letter to say that I now owe them... the same amount as the bonus? I truly feel like I would like to sue them for harassment, Stress and Anxiety throughout this whole entire claim. I'm just worn out by worry, it has been nothing short of a nightmare.

Tammy, I am sorry to hear how Hartford has treated you. It might be best for us to speak so that I can get some more detail on the situation, but certainly Hartford can request medical documentation and such should be provided to them in order to continue to prove your claim. And while they have the discretion to deny benefits if they feel justified in doing so, their sudden re-approval seems odd as most times a claimant has to file an appeal to challenge a denial. Is the claim still approved at this time? With regards to the overpayment request, we will need to see your policy to see if your receipt of your quarterly bonus will fall under any “other income benefits” that Hartford is allowed to offset from your disability benefits. Thus, an overpayment could be owed but I will need to see a copy of the policy and Hartford’s request before I can provide a proper answer.
