Question

Denied by Hartford for Long-Term Disability Benefits

Asked on August 5th 2024 by Darlene
I am an elementary school teacher and have been suffering with severe symptoms since I contracted Covid in December of 2021. I have been diagnosed with Superior Semi-Circular Canal Dehiscence Disorder and Vestibular Migraines since that time. I previously suffered from Fibromyalgia, Osteoarthritis, Hashimoto's Disease, Thyroiditis, spinal stenosis, and fatigue. These symptoms have gotten more intense since I had Covid. I am 61 years old and Hartford paid me Disability until February 2024. They denied my long-term benefits stating I am able to work a job that doesn't require climbing ladders or a job with heights involved. In your professional opinion, should I pursue legal representation?

Thank you so much!
