Question

Bipolar on STD Hartford is LTD

Asked on June 6th 2023 by Pscurcio1
I have several physical conditions including fibro and a car accident in 2016 which damaged my back and eight disc that was recently diagnosed in hospitalized bipolar disorder and between tinnitus and my ears migraines which I've had three ablations in my neck for and just the general pain from the car accident as well as having fibromyalgia since I was in my twenties. I am really suffering and cannot work. I only have 40% Vision in one eye the migraines are severe and I have FMLA for that all the time but this bipolar diagnosis lets me know why I have so many problems between my health and mental health at my job. I'm currently on a PHP 5-day week outpatient program on short-term disability with Sedgwick and soon that will move over to long-term which is with Hartford. I've started on my own a disability claim and will be having a phone interview with the Social Security Department on the 2nd of June. Should I get an attorney involved? I am 58 years old some in the advanced age category. Because I have short and long-term disability I'm wondering when an attorney even want to work with me I don't know where the big amount of money would be for an attorney in a disability case like this if I can get short-term to long-term to cover until disability is approved or denied and in that case I would then get an attorney involved I think. What do you think? Is this a case someone like yourself would be interested in? I work for Charter Communications and so far Sedgwick has been good but I'm not sure about transitioning for short to long-term as I've only been on this short-term Claim about 5 weeks now and I will be moving to a 3-day week outpatient program and they will still recommend that I can't work of course.

I am sorry to hear what you are going through. It seems like you should easily be approved based upon your extensive medical disabilities. You mention bi-polar and you want to make sure your physical conditions are primary so that Hartford does not try to limit your LTD claim to 24 months for a mental nervous condition. We assist people with the application and claim handling process and we offer contingency and hourly fee agreements. If you are already approved now and don’t anticipate any issues then I think you will be ok without a lawyer. If you believe you will be denied or get denied, please contact us for assistance.
