Question

Can I sue Prudential for ruining my life?

Asked on May 9th 2016 by Todha
I have Prudential insurance through my job and it has ruined my life to depend on them for benefits. Yet in still it wasn’t a problem for them to take premiums from my check weekly for coverage. I’ve been out of work since 2/8 and dr disabled me 3/24/16. They have denied me even with MRI record dr statement and hand surgeon information. They have caused me to take many losses. I must’ve spoke to at least 20 reps and manager and still haven’t heard anything. In fed up with not having any income in 3 months. Working at an assembly plant requires both hands so if I have a tear in my wrist that’s extremely painful. Can I go about suing them for loss wages and emotional distress?

Tosha, under ERISA your only actionable cause is for unpaid/owed benefits. Did you already appeal the denial of benefits?
