Question

Since I live in an apartment, are the common lounge and meeting spaces considered in-home (for my interview)?

I have been on a MetLife LTD policy for over 8 years. SSD has classified me as totally and perm disabled. I recently had a phone interview and could not understand what the person was saying half the time because of his accent. The call concluded with him telling me that there will be an in-home interview later in the year. My policy specifically states “telephone or in-home interview” so I think I have no choice in the matter. My question is: since I live in an apartment are the common lounge and meeting spaces considered in-home?

Dave, I am happy to hear of your claim being paid. To give you an answer, I would have to see a copy of the actual policy, but more times than not, most insurance companies are fine with meeting in common areas. If you have a copy of the LTD policy, please contact me so that we can discuss your claim and question.
