Question

What is the difference between having your case closed versus one that’s denied?

Asked on September 27th 2014 by Neal
My question may be simple. My Cigna case was closed due to lack of information and documentation. Cigna claims that never received the majority of the information they requested. What is the difference between having your case closed versus one that’s denied? Can I appeal?

Neal, They are typically one in the same for all intents and purposes. Regardless of the rationale for the denial they should provide you with a letter outlining the basis of the denial and advising you of your appeal rights. Please feel free to contact our office when you receive the denial letter.
