Question

How do I get my Dr. to give Voya more info backing his claim?

Asked on May 28th 2024 by Renae
My Dr. is very short on all communication. I have started an Appeal on their recent denial. I have been on Voya disability for Chronic migraine (with complications), PTSD and depression for 4 years. I started getting migraines 40 years ago and they fluctuated over time. I have had current neurologist for 2 of those. He does not have anything new for me as I have tried everything. He has used statement about no ‘reasonable consistency” at my request but Voya says if no new meds I must be managing and therefore not disabled. (Just as you suggest in your videos) only manage because I only have to care for myself and ESA. Even that is too much many days. How do I win this appeal?? I have no income and no one to help me.

Renae:

Migraines are very challenging claims and it sounds like your doctor is frustrated. When we handle an appeal we speak with the treating doctor and create a custom attending physician statement. We also have clients keep a headache diary for at least 30 days and then bring it to treating doctors. We also work with independent doctors that review your medical records and generate an opinion based upon consulting with you and reviewing your medical history. You should contact us for a free consultation.
