At first I wanted a local lawyer that I could talk to in person, however, I could not find one in my own state that would take an ERISA disability case. Once I contacted Dell & Schaefer and talked to my assigned lawyer (Alex) my fears went away. Alex was very attentive to the things that I told him and quickly returned all my e-mails and/or phone calls. He set my mind at ease and worked very hard on my case to ensure a favorable settlement. I believe Alex Palamara is a real life hero. He’s the kind of human that sticks up for the “little guy”. All too often in our society we might think of dentist and attorneys in a negative light. However, when one finds themselves in a terrible place, you pray for help, thankfully, I found Alex!

I do not know. My experience was very positive and I do not have anyway of complaining with Alex or Dell & Schaefer. My private disability company was horrific, but in hiring you to represent me, this experience ended in a much more positive way than it started. When you are disabled and in my case suddenly so, you’re made to feel less than as a person. Or as a hypochondriac. You find yourself constantly trying to defend why you aren’t a drudge on society and why you’re not just looking for a handout because you “can’t deal” with life. In dealing with Alex and Dell & Schaefer, for the first time I felt as if I didn’t have to justify the fact that yes, my body is sick, yes I worked damn hard for being able to pay into a long term disability insurance crappy as it may be, and yes it’s ok to receive the payout without being made to feel like scum. I am a 61 year old Senior Business Analyst. I had been working at a health insurance company for approximately 11 years when I became disabled and have had numerous, bulging disks, nerves that were severely impinged, and active arthritis and degenerative disk disease throughout my spine.
