Dell & Schaefer Supports the Elizabeth Smart Foundation
Dell & Schaefer is a proud supporter of the Elizabeth Smart Foundation (ESF). The Elizabeth Smart Foundation mission is to empower women and girls with the knowledge and skills necessary to actively protect themselves against violence and abuse.
Born in Utah in 1987, at age 14 Smart was abducted from her home in June 2002. Held captive by a fanatic named Brian David Mitchell and his wife, Wanda Barzee, Smart was repeatedly raped, drugged and forced to endure religious rituals, until earning her freedom in March 2003. She has since become a noted activist and author, launching the Elizabeth Smart Foundation in 2011, authoring My Story in 2013. Following her experience, Smart married Matthew Gilmour in 2012, and they have two children together. Her successful career as an activist allows her to share her advocacy for abduction and kidnapping victims.
With Elizabeth at the helm of the Elizabeth Smart Foundation, education programs provide the fundamental understanding vital to recognizing and confronting abuse and sexual violence in all its various forms. ESF uses every platform available to reach women and girls to empower them through physical, mental, and emotional self-defense classes.
Partnered with experienced therapists and specialists, the ESF provides online content, podcasts, and resources focused on prevention, trauma, shame, and recovery.
By educating the public on:
what sexual abuse is
how to recognize abuse
the many common side effects
where to turn for help
The Elizabeth Smart Foundation provides hope to those who find themselves in the blackest abyss of pain, isolation, and fear.
This year Dell & Schaefer and our employees came together to celebrate generosity and to give.
By sharing our capacity to care for and empower one another Dell & Schaefer enabled employee donors to increase their impact by matching their donation up to $150.

Dell & Schaefer is a proud sponsor of the 2015 American Heart Association Heart Ball
Dell & Schaefer is a proud sponsor of the 2015 American Heart Association Heart Ball. This social event celebrates the American Heart Association’s mission to build healthier lives free of cardiovascular diseases and stroke. All donations enable the American Heart Association to fund groundbreaking research, develop guidelines to improve patient care and help people lower their risk factors for heart disease and stroke.
As long as heart disease continues to be the nation’s No. 1 cause of death, the importance of The American Heart Association will only grow. That is why the American Heart Association began the Heart-Check Food Certification Program. The program is designed to help consumers make informed choices about the foods they purchase. The nutrition requirements are food-based and intended for healthy people over age two. The Heart-Check mark, the front-of-package icon of the American Heart Association’s Food Certification Program, has been helping shoppers select healthier foods since 1995. The Heart-Check Mark is a useful tool for consumers constructing a healthier diet. American Heart Association Heart-Check Food Certification program criteria are based on sound science regarding healthy dietary recommendations, food categories, specific product ingredients and nutrient values, and are consistent with relevant government regulatory standards for making coronary heart disease claims. The Heart-Check mark is the health icon most trusted by consumers to identify foods that are consistent with a heart-healthy diet, according to consumer market research.
People who report eating foods that meet the American Heart Association’s Heart-Check Food Certification Program nutrition requirements are more likely to eat healthier and have fewer heart disease risk factors, according to a recent study*.
Look for the Heart-Check mark to find products in the grocery store that can help you make smarter choices about the foods you eat.

Did you know that the March of Dimes was established in 1938 by FDR to fight polio? Better known as the March of Dimes, the foundation established a polio patient aid program and funded research for vaccines developed by Jonas Salk, MD and Albert Sabin, MD. These vaccines effectively ended the polio epidemic in the United States.
Today, the March of Dimes’ mission has shifted to include premature birth and birth defects by helping moms have full-term pregnancies and healthy babies. The March of Dimes researches the problems that threaten the health of babies. And through their research breakthroughs have helped save thousands of babies.

Attorneys Dell & Schaefer Support the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum
As supporters and members of the United States Holocaust Museum it really meant a lot to see that the Miami Heat basketball team recently visited the Holocaust Museum in DC. Today we face an alarming rise in Holocaust denial and antisemitism—even in the very lands where the Holocaust happened—as well as genocide and threats of genocide in other parts of the world. This is occurring just as we approach a time when Holocaust survivors and other eyewitnesses will no longer be alive.
During halftime of the recent Miami Heat game on January 30, 2014, the following video about the Holocaust Museum was played for the entire stadium.
A living memorial to the Holocaust, the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum inspires citizens and leaders worldwide to confront hatred, prevent genocide, and promote human dignity. Federal support guarantees the Museum’s permanent place on the National Mall, and its far-reaching educational programs and global impact are made possible by generous donors.
Located among our national monuments to freedom on the National Mall, the Museum provides a powerful lesson in the fragility of freedom, the myth of progress, and the need for vigilance in preserving democratic values. With unique power and authenticity, the Museum teaches millions of people each year about the dangers of unchecked hatred and the need to prevent genocide.
Since its dedication in 1993, the Museum has welcomed more than 36 million visitors, including 96 heads of state and more than ten million school-age children. To learn more about the museum or to become a supporter of the museum please visit http://www.ushmm.org/support.
Salvation Army’s Angel Tree Program
Every child deserves to experience the joy of Christmas morning.
The season of giving is an important time at Dell & Schaefer. Since 2009, Dell & Schaefer has been a proud supporter of the Salvation Army’s Angel Tree program. This year, our employees adopted 24 angels in our community to give them the Christmas of their dreams. The Angel Tree program brightens the lives of thousands of children each year that otherwise would have no gifts to open during the holidays. The Salvation Army’s Angel Tree program provides new clothing or toys for children of needy families through the support of donors. The gifts are given to parents a few days before Christmas. The child believes the gifts are from his parents or Santa Claus, which helps to preserve the magic of Christmas.
The Angel Tree is a testament to the power of people coming together to help their neighbors in need.
Angel Tree History
The Angel Tree program is one of The Salvation Army’s highest profile Christmas efforts. Angel Tree was created by The Salvation Army in 1979 by Majors Charles and Shirley White when they worked with a Lynchburg, Virginia shopping mall to provide clothing and toys for children at Christmastime.
The program got its name because the Whites identified the wishes of local children by writing their gift needs on Hallmark greeting cards that featured pictures of angels. They placed the cards on a Christmas tree at the mall to allow shoppers to select children to help. Thanks to the Whites, who were assigned by The Army to the Lynchburg area at the time, more than 700 children had a brighter Christmas that first year.
Three years later, when the Whites were transferred to Nashville, Tennessee, Angel Tree was launched in the Music City. WSM radio, which airs the Grand Ol’ Opry, came on board that year as the first Angel Tree co-sponsor in the U.S.
Because of the on-air promotion on WSM in Nashville, as well as national publicity on CNN and the Larry King Show, news of Angel Tree spread across the country like wildfire.

Attorneys Dell & Schaefer are proud to support The American Cancer Society Relay For Life of Pembroke Pines
Attorneys Dell & Schaefer are proud to support The American Cancer Society Relay For Life of Pembroke Pines taking place on April 23rd, 2010. Relay For Life, offers every person in the community a chance to recognize those who have defeated cancer, remember loved ones lost, and fight back against the disease by raising much needed funds.
During Relay For Life, teams of people camp out at a local high school, park, or fairground and take turns walking or running around a track or path. Each team is asked to have a representative on the track at all times during the event. Because cancer never sleeps, Relays are overnight events up to 24 hours in length.
Relay began in 1985 when Dr. Gordy Klatt, a colorectal surgeon in Tacoma, Washington, ran and walked around a track for 24 hours to raise money for the American Cancer Society. Since then, Relay has grown from a single man’s passion to fight cancer into the world’s largest movement to end the disease.
Each year, more than 3.5 million people in 5,000 communities in the United States, along with participants in 20 other countries, gather to take part in this global phenomenon and raise much-needed funds and awareness to save lives from cancer.
This year our office manager and her daughter, Taiylor Rodriguez and her dance troupe Dancers Gallery, Dancers 4 Cancer, will be participating in the Relay For Life. We wish them luck during this 24 hour event.

Do you work in my state?
Yes. We are a national disability insurance law firm that is available to represent you regardless of where you live in the United States. We have partner lawyers in every state and we have filed lawsuits in most federal courts nationwide. Our disability lawyers represent disability claimants at all stages of a claim for disability insurance benefits. There is nothing that our lawyers have not seen in the disability insurance world.
What are your fees?
Since we represent disability insurance claimants at different stages of a disability insurance claim we offer a variety of different fee options. We understand that claimants living on disability insurance benefits have a limited source of income; therefore we always try to work with the claimant to make our attorney fees as affordable as possible.
The three available fee options are a contingency fee agreement (no attorney fee or cost unless we make a recovery), hourly fee or fixed flat rate.
In every case we provide each client with a written fee agreement detailing the terms and conditions. We always offer a free initial phone consultation and we appreciate the opportunity to work with you in obtaining payment of your disability insurance benefits.
Do I have to come to your office to work with your law firm?
No. For purposes of efficiency and to reduce expenses for our clients we have found that 99% of our clients prefer to communicate via telephone, e-mail, fax, GoToMeeting.com sessions, or Skype. If you prefer an initial in-person meeting please let us know. A disability company will never require you to come to their office and similarly we are set up so that we handle your entire claim without the need for you to come to our office.
How can I contact you?
When you call us during normal business hours you will immediately speak with a disability attorney. We can be reached at 800-682-8331 or by email. Lawyer and staff must return all client calls same day. Client emails are usually replied to within the same business day and seem to be the preferred and most efficient method of communication for most clients.
Dell & Schaefer Client Reviews *****
I worked extremely hard on Wall Street for over twenty years – spending almost seventeen years at one of the biggest and most reputable firms – where in the 360 annual reviews I was consistently within the top five percent of performers. I suffered an injury while at work and had to undergo spine surgery and take medical leave to recuperate which lasted almost six months. However, that surgery didn’t do what we all expected and as time went by I got worse. The pain was too much, I was hardly able to walk, work, commute, sleep or anything. I had to be constantly drugged, having involuntary leg spasms at night that are extremely painful. Three top US Doctors agreed the only way to help me was for me to undergo an anterior and posterior spine fusion. This meant a very long and risky surgery and we didn’t know how long I would be unable to work. At that moment – I was laid off from my job.
After the 2nd surgery and until today, I continued to suffer from lots of pain, lack of mobility, depression, anxiety, inability to care for myself or my family, the painful leg spams continued and I realized my life had changed for the worse. I applied for disability insurance from my LTD carrier – this is the insurance I had been paying out of pocket for about sixteen years just in case I ever needed it. Despite all the Doctor’s reports, all the pain and suffering, the disability, medication and symptoms I have, the fact that my family has to do many things for me including help me bathe and dress and despite the fact that I’m going to need a third surgery pretty soon, the LTD carrier denied my claim. I contacted the law firm of Dell & Schaefer after conducting some research on great law firms in the US.
