Attorney Claim Handling Gives Claimants Protection Against Hartford

Peace of mind and protection against claim denial is the reason our clients rely on our disability lawyers to manage their Hartford disability claim. Claim approval does not mean that Hartford will pay benefits for as long as you want them. We have known Hartford to be aggressive in its hunt for reasons to deny long-term disability claims. The Hartford claim rep assigned to your long term disability claim is required to review your claim every month and determine your eligibility before a benefit check is issued. Hartford has the right to stop paying benefits at any moment they believe that the claim is no longer supported. Our law firm offers a unique flat monthly fee service in which we take over the handling of every aspect of your claim with Hartford so that you only deal with our firm. In the video above we discuss our monthly claim handling service.

The Benefits Of Having Our Law Firm Handle Your Hartford Claim Are Multiple:

  1. Hartford can no longer contact you for any reason as all communications both oral and written must come to our office
  2. We complete every claimant statement with you
  3. We work with you and your doctor to complete each Attending Physician’s Statement
  4. We prepare you for visits with your doctors so that your doctor will properly document your medical records in accordance with Hartford’s requirements
  5. We make sure every monthly benefit check is received timely and paid correctly
  6. We alleviate the anxiety commonly caused by receiving letters from Hartford and unprepared phone calls
  7. A Hartford rep or third party investigator cannot come to your home unannounced
  8. We limit the scope of any medical exam requested by Hartford and make sure you don’t get examined by a doctor known for claim denials
  9. We consult you on things you can do that will not jeopardize your benefits
  10. We give you piece of mind knowing that you have a lawyer that knows every detail of your claim and is ready to take immediate action if your claim is wrongfully denied

Does Hartford Think There Is A Problem Because You Have A Lawyer?

From our experience Hartford prefers for a claimant to have a lawyer. With a claim professional present, the claim for disability benefits becomes a business-to-business relationship rather than a business-to-consumer relationship. There are no games played by Hartford when our law firm is involved. Hartford has probably handled more cases with our law firm than any other law firm in the country.

There is a level of respect and competency that has been recognized by Hartford and we focus on getting our clients monthly benefits paid in a timely and efficient manner. Our approach to claims is to fight aggressively if our client’s disability claim is denied.

However, unlike most other law firms we don’t fight unnecessary disputes during the claim handling process that will only lead to a further delay in payment of your claim. We know that our clients rely on the consistent and timely payment of their Hartford disability check. We protect your claim to make sure the Hartford disability benefits are paid for as long as you need them.

A disability company will never require you to come to their office and similarly we are set up so that we handle your entire claim without the need for you to come to our office.

How can I contact you?

When you call us during normal business hours you will immediately speak with a disability attorney. We can be reached at 800-698-9159 or by email. Lawyer and staff must return all client calls same day. Client emails are usually replied to within the same business day and seem to be the preferred and most efficient method of communication for most clients.

Is The Hartford good at paying claims?

Compared to other similar companies, Hartford eventually pays more claims. Customer reviews of people who have received payouts is higher for Hartford than similar companies. When you file a claim with Hartford, you want to make sure that your paperwork is filled out correctly and completely. Failing to provide all of the necessary information can lead to delays in processing your claim. In the event that there are any questions or discrepancies about your claim, Hartford has a customer service team who can help answer any questions you may have and help ensure that everything is done correctly.

How long does it take for The Hartford to process a claim?

In general, it takes 30 days to investigate a claim. Payments will begin shortly after approval. However, depending on the complexity of the claim, it could take longer. The Hartford may need to obtain additional information, review medical records, speak with witnesses or other parties involved in the incident before making a decision on the claim. In addition, if your claim is denied then the appeals process can take up to several months.

What happens after a claim is processed?

An adjuster will review your claim. They may ask for additional details regarding your injury as the claim investigation proceeds. If approved you will begin receiving payments.

The first step in the process is to calculate the amount of the payment. This includes computing the total amount payable and any deductions that may apply, such as deductibles or copayments. The adjuster will also evaluate whether you are eligible for additional benefits, such as wage-loss coverage or medical treatment coverage.

After calculating payments, the insurer will send out a notification to inform you on the amount of payment and when to expect it. Then, they will mail out a check directly to you or your bank account.

Once a claim is approved, claimants may be eligible for additional benefits depending on their individual situation. These benefits can include reimbursement of out-of-pocket medical or other expenses, rehabilitation services, and wage replacement for lost income due to the disability. If you are eligible for additional benefits, an adjuster will contact you to discuss these options in more detail.

Why would The Hartford deny a claim?

Hartford may reject your long and short-term disability claim if you fail to provide requested medical and financial records promptly. The Hartford, along with other disability insurance companies, includes a “Proof of Claim” or “Notice” clause in their policies. Failure to meet deadlines could result in claim denial. With complex claims, it may be difficult to respond within the timeline Hartford has established.

Other reasons why Hartford may deny a claim include:

• Not meeting the definition of disability. The Hartford offers different types of coverage and policies that have different definitions of disability. In order for a claim to be approved, the individual must meet or exceed the definition of disability as outlined in the policy.

• Pre-existing conditions. If an individual has any pre-existing health issues that are related to their disability, the claim may be denied.

• Not providing enough medical documentation. The Hartford requires detailed medical records from a variety of sources in order to evaluate a claim. If an individual does not provide the necessary documents or does not respond promptly to requests for additional information, then the claim can be denied.

• Filing after deadlines have passed. All claims must be filed within the specified deadlines in order to be considered. If a claim is not filed or completed on time, then it may be denied.

5 Ways We Help Get Your Benefits Paid

Get Your Disability Application Approved

Our goal is to get your application for disability income benefits approved. Applying for disability benefits can be a difficult process and the information you provide is critical. Most disability insurance companies look at your application in hopes of finding a reason to deny your claim. Your disability company will ask you to complete numerous forms, interview you, request lots of information, speak with your doctors and possibly request to have you examined by their "hired gun" doctor.

Through our experience of having helped thousands of disability insurance claimants, our lawyers will guide you through the entire application process and give you the best chance to get your disability claim approved the first time.

Submit A Strong Appeal Package

If your disability insurance benefits have been wrongfully denied, then our lawyers know exactly what it takes to get your disability claim approved. You only get once chance to submit an Appeal, therefore every piece of evidence that will support your disability claim must be included. The goal is to win your disability benefits at the Appeal level, but while preparing your Appeal you must consider how a federal judge will review your disability claim if your benefit denial is upheld.

Preparing a strong disability appeal package is an art that requires you to understand how the courts interpret your disability policy language, ERISA regulations / laws, and how to strategically present evidence in support of your definition of "disability". We encourage you to contact any of our lawyers for a free immediate review of your disability denial.

Sue Your Disability Company

98% of the disability insurance lawsuits filed by our law firm have resulted in either the payment of benefits or a lump-sum settlement agreement. Our disability lawyers have filed ERISA governed and private policy long term disability insurance lawsuits against every major disability insurance company in state and federal courts nationwide and we love fighting for the "little guy" against the multi-billion dollar insurance company giants.

We have recovered hundreds of millions of dollars for our clients and we would like the opportunity to provide you with a free review of your disability benefit denial. There are many complex factors in a disability benefit lawsuit and the legal battle to win long term disability benefits can be fierce.

Prevent A Disability Benefit Denial

Approval of long-term disability is a continuous process as every disability insurance company will evaluate your eligibility for benefits on a monthly basis. You can never let your guard down and assume that your disability company will continue to pay your benefits for as long as you think you need them.

Our law firm offers a reasonable flat fee monthly claim handling service in which we handle every aspect of your long-term disability claim and do whatever it takes to make sure you are paid every month.

Negotiate a Lump-Sum Settlement

Let's discuss if a lump-sum settlement or buyout of your disability insurance claim is both available and makes financial sense for you. Our lawyers have negotiated more than five-hundred million dollars in disability insurance buyouts and we know how to get you a maximum settlement. A disability insurance company is not required to offer a buyout and not every disability company offers them.
